The machinery which will be used for this project will comprise the following:-

a)       Automatic Bar Cutting Machine – date of commissioning December 2006. This machine automatically measures and cuts the rebar – it has a cutting capacity of 6 no. 40mm high tensile bars with a single stroke.

b)      Automatic Twin-head Bar Bending Machine [Robot] – date of commissioning December 2006. This machine automatically measures and bends the rebar – it has a bending capacity of 1 no. 40mm high tensile bars, bending both ends simultaneously.

c)       Automatic Stirrup Bending Machine - date of commissioning December 2006. This machine automatically measures, bends and cuts the rebar stirrup – it has a bending capacity of 8, 10 and 14mm feed diameter.

d)      5 No. Table Bending Machine – date of commissioning December 2006 to October 2007. These simple bending machines have a capacity of up to 40mm diameter.

e)      Spiral / Radius Bending Machine – ideal for curved bars up to 32mm diameter

f)         Yousuf Steel also has machinery for mechanical splicing of reinforcing bars in range 16 to 40 mm using the Dextra threaded bar coupler system – details enclosed.

The factory operates with a production capacity estimated to be up to 3000 tonnes per month working on a double shift basis. There are two 72 metre span, 8 tonnes and 5 tonnes capacity overhead cranes.
